Q: Why have you specialized in writing renewable energy copy?
A: I explain why on my Bio page, but here’s a bit more information:
After working in financial copywriting for more than 6 years, I wanted more than just financial rewards.
I learned about the science of climate change, studied renewable energy with a passion, and decided to become a valuable part of something really positive for the future.
As an example, I enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving. If climate change continues unabated, the world’s reefs won’t be around much longer due to increasing water acidity from elevated temperatures and CO2 levels.
Plus I’m also fond of spending lots of time in SE Asia while writing. SE Asia is one area of the world where climate change will hit especially hard. I’d like to do my part to help globally while helping to preserve a place that gives me so much pleasure.
All this means is that when I’m writing for you, you’re getting all my very real passion and interest in making the world a better place through renewable energy. Writing for you isn’t ‘just a paycheck’ for me … it’s a real inspiration!
Q: What writing resources and qualifications do you have available to you?
A: I’m a Circle of Success Club member at AWAI (American Writers and Artists Institute) — I have full access to virtually all AWAI copywriting and marketing courses and materials. (If you’re not familiar with AWAI, they’re the industry leader in direct response and online copywriting training.)
I’m also a member in good standing with the Professional Writer’s Alliance. So I know the fundamentals of ‘what works’ for pretty much any kind of specialized copy you happen to need. And learning something new is quick and easy for me. That means I can help you more as you need it.

Q: What clients have you worked with in the past?
A: In the past I’ve written long and short financial copy for investment newsletters, futures and equity/ETF options trading services, and stock and quant trading educators as well as forex software developers too.
In fact, I’ve written everything from long-form copy to Adwords ads and everything in between. That includes email campaigns, video scripts to advertise new products and services … and lead-generating landing pages to get prospects started in multi-stage sales funnels.
Q: What can I expect from working with you?
A: You can expect exactly the same thing I expect from you: a professional with the right combination of passion, experience, expertise, and attention to detail.
I’ll bring the same level of care to your project as I would my own. That’s because I stand behind my work and want you to be 100% satisfied.
Q: Do you guarantee that my copy will get the results I want?
A: While I can guarantee the quality of my work, due to unforeseen factors I cannot guarantee the results of my copy and neither will any other legitimate copywriter.
These factors include your market, list, demand, design and even current events which could all affect the response you get to the copy I produce.
However, I will make every effort to ensure your copy and offer will produce conversion rates as high as possible.
Q: What do your fees include? Do they include revisions?
A: I present a proposal for each project based on its complexity. And you’ll always receive at least one revision on two conditions:
- The scope of the project remains the same, and
- You request the revisions within 30 days of receiving the first draft
Assuming that, I’m always happy to constructively discuss what you want improved and what the specific changes are. Then I’ll make them ASAP!
That’s because I understand that good copy is often shaped into great copy through editing.
So I’ll make the changes you request. But I’ll also tell you when I disagree. That will ensure the best possible message is delivered to your prospects.
Q: Do you do design too?
A: While I can help with basic design options and ideas, I’m a writer and not a designer.
If I have artwork or layout suggestions for a particular project, I”ll send those along in the form of a rough sketch with some detailed notes attached. However, please understand that I’m not a design artist and that I don’t offer graphic design services.
Q: What’s your writing process like?
A: First I dive into your product or service to learn it inside and out. I’ll uncover all the features and benefits, understand how you stack up against your competitors, and identify your likely buyers and what drives them to put up their hand and say ‘I’m interested in what you’re offering’.
Then we can determine where you’re superior to your competitors. Plus any unique deep-seated need your product or service fulfills in your target market.That lays all the groundwork. And now I start writing, editing, revising and writing again so it’s polished to the highest level of quality and effectiveness.
Meanwhile, we’re in regular communication to ensure everything is to your satisfaction and on-target with your image and personality.
Only then — once we’re both happy with the work — do we release our prized creation and start measuring the results.
Q: How long does all this take?
A: That’s a bit like asking ‘how long is a piece of string?’ Because each project is unique. And that’s why we need to talk about a timeline during our initial discussions.
However, the basic idea is to balance your need for polished, effective copy against your deadlines. Be assured you will always have winning copy delivered to your desk on or before the due date.
Q: Can yo do a rush job? I’m really in a hurry!
A: Depending on my current obligations, you may be able to request a ‘rush job’ for a critical project due ASAP.
However, please understand there’s an increased fee for rush jobs and there are times when I can’t complete a rush job at any price due to previous commitments.
That’s because I’m serious about meeting deadlines. I simply can’t jeopardize any projects I already have ‘on deck’. Please understand.
So if you have a rush job, let me know right away so we can confirm my availability.
Q: How do I know you’re a good writer?
A: I’ve had many satisfied clients in the past and I’ve included some case studies and testimonials from the financial copywriting portion of my career right here.

I’d also like to think that I’m flexible and pleasant to work with. I hope that’s come through on this page because I really am an enthusiastic, positive person about renewable energy and all its many benefits.
Q: Where are you located? What if that’s far from me?
A: I’m usually in South-East Asia these days (I’m an expat Canadian who returns home primarily for Christmas), but I’ve worked with clients around the globe.
Email and Skype will allow us to keep in contact no matter where we are. That’s the beauty of the Internet!
Q. Do you do all the work yourself or do you outsource projects?
A: I always do all the work myself. No exceptions!
Q: What are your terms for payment?
A: I require half of the project fee upon a signed agreement to begin work. The agreement will outline the price, the project details, as well as the payment terms.
The balance is due upon delivery.
And if we negotiate monthly retainer fees for an ongoing writing engagement, those fees are due in advance.
Q: What happens if we decide to terminate the project?
A: I understand that occasionally, projects change direction or get cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
However, your 50% deposit is non-refundable as it covers the time and work I’ve done up to the termination time.

Putting me to work for you is pretty simple. You can contact me directly to discuss a project or just to make an inquiry.
Since my office hours may not always coincide with yours (I’m either in South East Asia or the west coast of Canada) I can’t guarantee an immediate response.
However, I will make every effort to respond within 24 hours. Then we can discuss the details and agree to a win-win deal for both of us.
